Hello.......Well first of all I want to introduce my self
My name is Rafael Orzechowski iam from Polish orgin but I live in Sweden.
I have owned diffrent kinds of dogs from Afghans to boxers *lol*
My last two dogs were a Kuvasz and now Iam the owner of a 5 year old male Dogo Canario. Wich I continue in working in protection.
My interest for protection training started about 3 years ago.....And I plan to continue to learn as much as I can in this area of traing.
Now to my question, I see that some of you own and train the BRT....this is a breed that I have keept my eyes on for some time, but first now I have decided to dig deeper in to this breed.
I would like to now as Iam sure many others that are interested in working kennels and bloodlines....
To you people that own the BRT....what kennels do you consider producing dogs able for protection traing?
And if anyone would have any comments or know anything about the working qualities of Swedish breeders I would be very happy to hear your opinions.
Hi rafal:
If you send me PM I will give you my opinion....and its only that. I dont think we're supposed to tout kennels per se on this board.
I do think better dogs come from Russia and Ukraine....the problem is getting them to where you are...and dealing with Russian customs, etc. Good ones exist in Poland too...where I live...but I prefer Russian and Ukrainian dogs at this point. (I own a BRT by the way).
Andre:
I have a 16 month old BRT from Ukraine. I think the russian and ukrainian breeders are the best....but Poland has some good ones too. It is a great breed....with a few odd characteristics in terms of training. There are several people on this forum with a lot of info on training BRTs....and in general the wealth of knowledge on training is staggering. Anyway, if you want you can send me a pm -- be happy to share what I know. I love in Poland so I do see a lot of the breed....far more than the US. (its sort of policy not to pitch specific breeders on the open forum...so goes my understanding).
We have 4 adult brts - 1 bitch and 3 males. We live in Georgia. PM me if you want more info. They are an interesting breed after having had dutchies, mals, lakenois, rotties and GSDs (and I cant forget my dobie!)
