Sorry if this is in the wrong spot and if this is a dumb question. I understand females come into heat about twice a year. Elea had her first heat in May and it seems she's started her second now in September. Is this normal, as in not 6 months between cycles or should I have her checked out? I figured she should come into heat in November and was taken by surprise by it this time.
Twice a year is the rule but it's a flexible one. Most dogs however have thier own ritme and once it is established you can rely on it. eg i've a little one here that comes in heat every 5 months and another who currently stays with my parents who commes in heat every 7,5 months
