I've been reading that you shouldn't give your dog all access to toys because it will diminish their drive. What do you do when you have a young teething dog? Do you leave toys for the dog or not? What toys are good for the dog that won't inhibit drive? At what point should you take back the toys? As soon as teething is over or...? Can you leave some toys for the dog or?
This is where recreational bones will save your furniture. Of course if you are crating, which you should be, that shouldn't really be an issue anyway.
I also found these neat little bone shaped molds for freezing stuff for your dog.. I think those would be good when the dog is actually losing teeth... I just bought them because, well, because I wanted to <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
what you heard can be true, if the dog has access to its prey object at all times, he/she does not desire it as much in the work. i always end my puppy sessions by frustrating the pup with the prey object and putting him away with out getting that last bite. the next session he is dying to get that tug. i use ice cubes a lot for teething. i know it doesnt totally eliminat ethe teething issue, but it can help.
