How imortant is it for my dogs to have shelter from the rain?.
What material do you recomend for building a dog pen?
Would you use chain link?
What size gauge is best for the chain link to be?
Is concrete best for the flooring of the kennels and dog pen?.
How can I get ideas for kennels?
A shelter is very important.
I usually build mine with 8 ft chain link and a roof of chain link. In the back I put the dog house and a cover spanning the roof of tinted plexiglass. The most important thing is to use poured concrete for the entire perimeter about a foot on each side of the fencing with the poles mounted in the center. Leave the middle dirt. As far as the link I use the one covered in green plastic as it seems to be more asthetically pleasing. YMWV.
Check out the "tour" of leerburgs facility. It has a few links that go into detail on what he did and how he would do it different if he could do it again. Some really good info! http://www.leerburg.com/tour.htm
