Several days ago I experienced a new behavior with my Am St. I sent some feelers out to folks I think are in the "know" reagrding what this new behavior might mean. Based on the response methods I quickly came to the conclusion I better get off my a** and figure it out. ( ahh the instructors always have a method to their madness) Well looks like my new behavior is redirected aggression.....hmmmmm, I am already on the waiting list for Eds new Dealing with Dominant and Aggresive Dogs DVD, sooooooo Lilly has an appointment with her first K9/Schutzhund trainer today at 2:30. There will be other dogs and all ...shudder..... He is going to assess the seriousness of the aggression and start teaching me ways to mitigate the redirected aggression. Hurry up ED...I need that DVD...
OK, some very simple HANDLING techniques that need modification...hmmmmmmmm,,,,anyway, I got to see this trainer work with a very blond sheppard before my session and a very LARGE doberman after, all I can say is WOW. What an incredible thing this schuzhund is. I have to say my favorite part to see after the sleeve biting thing is these dogs prance off shaking the sleeve in their mouths LOL!!!
And one more thing why do trainers always get your dog to do everything JUST right.....geeerrrrrrrrrr
