Hey Scott, Yes....I have the 200 and right now since I just got it I'm having Opie just wear it around all the time with it turned off(when he gets up till he goes to bed unless we leave for awhile during the day or anytime he's in his creat I take it off) just to get used to it without relating it to a form of correction. He's a pretty smart boy and very collar wise. I love the Tritronics SP60 (great range, Very Reliable and tough as nails)I've had for about 6 mos., but I couldn't leave it on for as long as I wanted to because of the weight and it made his neck sore. I had a perfect (almost, ha)dog with the collar on, but with it off I was having to repeat commands and geting caught with my pants down with no way to back them up and that's a no-no. So here I am trying out the much lighter Dogtra 200 with the grid pad hoping that being lighter and stim more evenly dispursed with the grid it will help solve our problem. When I chacked it on myself I couldn't feel anything with it set under 20. I don't care for that much, but I have 30 day's and if it doesn't measure up to my other criteri (reliable and consistancy in levels of simulation regardless of range) it will go back.
Opie is a 15 month old Brittany Spaniel and has wormed his way into my very soul. He loves to hunt (two more legs for our JH), retrieve, take long daily walks 2-3 miles, go to the doggie park to play with his buddies, help mom or dad do WHATEVER THEY'RE DOING, play, play and more playing fetch , lol and snuggle up on your lap while your watching TV or taking a nap. Who could ask more from a dovoted loving friend? Wish I could put a picture up, but since I don't have a web page I guess I don't have any way to put on up.
Scott, I see your involved in ISD. I've been designing simulators for the Marines/Army and Navy for years. Lot's of fun and a great career. I went to Kokomo HS and Purdue. Where in IN are you from?
Thanks,
Jim
Jim, Should have stated in my previous post....I have the Dogra 200NCP Gold. As you said, with the original probes you really can't feel anything below 18-20. My dog's level was 20. With the grid had to go to about 22. Under extreme distraction I have never had to go above 35-40. So far anyway.
I did have to use a nail file on the center probe on the grid as it had some little burrs that could cause irritation. I will have to admit I'm probably a little too picky.
I just purchased two of these last week from mightypets after reading the reviews here. However today I found that it fell of from the collar and the black nuts that used to screw it to the collar are missing. Did anybody have this problem. Is it possible to get those nuts from somewhere? I was using it with my dogtra 1202NCP collars
