Hi all,
Just wanted to say hi.
I've been quietly coming around for a long time and have spent hours reading all the info thats up here.
I also have numerous tapes from Ed that really helped me and still do.
I am on my 4th GSD now which I picked up from Von Wilhendorf in CT. Her father is Olex and she is now about 71/2 months old.
I would say her drive for a ball or tug isnt off the charts although when shes in the mood I can get her worked up pretty good. I also think she has gotten better as I've worked her. I have had other GSD's that were far crazier for the ball though.
She is very smart and enjoys pleasing me but her drive does concern me.
I grew up in Chico Ca. but I am now here on the east coast in New York...Nassau County to be exact.
All my life Ive gotten GSD's from friends who had litters in the yard and needed to unload pups. This time ( now that my kids exposed me to the internet ) I did all kinds of research on line and may have only gotten more confused.
I sure am glad I stumbled across this site though and it became my favorite and I'm here every day.
Here in NY we dont have a Schutzhund club and i was wondering if anyone knew of someone here on Long Island or nearby that worked with dogs that could help me along.
As for me...Im a carpenter/contractor , 44 years old, married with 2 kids b-17, g-18 ( man, i cant believe they are that old already <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ), 1 f- gsd and 2 cats <--- a little something to make the dog nuts <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

If you wanna see some serious aggression - show my dog a cat, he got up close and personal with one last night with nothing but a glass door to seperate them, I wish he was that intense in his bitework <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
