I didn't see a question I always ask new handlers, has the dog had a bowel movement, if so, what did it look like. Only a dog handler manages to go look at a pile of dog poop just to see what it looks like. It's a good practice and can tell a lot. Not necessarily the best thing to go with a morning cup of coffee, but one that is important none the less.

Any behavior that is reinforced is more likely to occur again.
Her bowel movement is normal she hasn't vomited. She is running a 103 temp. Last night was the first time I took her temp. I read that normal for a dog is between 100 and 102.5. Maybe it’s a good idea for everyone to know what his or her dog’s normal temp is. Just for a base. She did eat chicken livers I made for her and did drink water I gave her from a spoon. This morning I drove her to the park and she tried chasing some geese. She was spayed so pyometra is out. I’m thinking poison from true green. Hopefully the vet will come up with a correct diagnosis.
Not having a bowel movement is not necessarily indicative of having an intestinal blockage. When my dog was 5 1/2 months old my family and I thought he stole a nylon knee-high out of the buggy on my mother's walker and ate it. Intense vomiting! A trip to the emergency clinic where he spent the night. He had 2 large bowel movements there. X-rays did not reveal anything and the vets were somewhat skeptical of my insistence that he did eat the nylon. 1 day later the obstruction cleared his intestine and out the other end (with a little help from me and a large maple leaf!).
If you suspect something is wrong and your dog is not acting "normal" hurry up and get a complete blood workup on her etc. It's really the only way to achieve piece of mind.
Karmen thanks for asking. Xena is back to herself. When I reached the vet yesterday afternoon her temperature dropped from 103 to 101.5. The vet did not see anything wrong from her physical exam. Lymph glands seemed ok there were no signs of swollen stomach or infection in her ears, eyes or throat. Since her condition seemed stable and her bowel movements were normal without any vomiting, she gave me a few options.1.) was to do nothing and let it take its course. 2.) was to take metronidazole antibiotics. 3.) was to take a complete blood panel for 105 dollars. I went with 2 knowing if Xena didn’t improve I would be back Sunday. This morning she was better and this evening she is back to her old self. I now know where the expression “ sick like a dog” comes from. At this point I will not give the antibiotics.
