I have a 2 1/2 year old pregnant pitbull, and this is her first litter and also this is the first i had a pregnant dog.Is there a way to tell when she is ready to have them? While she is having them should i be around her? Is there anything that i will need to do? She is very well behaved, she never ever has shown aggression towards any human or another animal. The only thing that i am worried about is that she likes to be around the family and trying to keep her by herself i am afraid she wont just lay there while she is haveing the babbies. If any one has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Not trying to start an arguement but why are you having puppies? was it planned or just happened? If planned you should have researched all the troubles of having puppies and maybe you would have thought otherwise and left the breeding to the experts.
Quote:Is there a way to tell when she is ready to have them?
Yes the gestation period is 63 days +/- and she will show nesting behaviors as well as a temperature drop right before the big effort.

Yes

Be there if something goes wrong, and you can dry the pups and stick em on a nipple.
