This is by far and away, the only leash I will ever buy. I have had mine now for over 6 years and its still in great shape. Initially I had bought a nylon leash for my then puppy, and the clasp kept breaking... I went through several, complete waste of money, those nylon leashes. That is when I found Leerburg's 2 handled leash, it's the best leash bar none.

The best and only leash we use. Our dog chewed through several nylon leashes before we bought this one. We've had this leash for close to two years now. We love the short handle as well.
Leather Two-Handle Leashes
Our Leerburg dog training leashes are the finest leather dog leashes that money can buy. 6 feet long x 3/4 inches wide.
This 2-handled leash is perfect for so many reasons. It is basically our 6 ft leather leash with an extra loop handle placed closer to the dog. We love this leash for walking our dogs. When a stranger, other animal, or any distraction approaches you and your dog while walking simply reach down to the lower handle and pull your dog close. When the distraction has passed you can release the second loop and go back to walking your dog as usual.
Our dog leashes are made from soft Latigo leather. You will never find a leash of this quality in any pet store or dog food warehouse.
The snaps on our leather dog leashes and collars are made from the highest quality solid stainless steel hardware. These snaps are generally sewn and then pop riveted to insure the highest security available. This is very important in Schutzhund and police protection training where a broken leash can cause disaster.
You can buy a cheaper leash at any store in your town, but you will NEVER buy a better quality leash anywhere.

The first thing I look at on a leash is its snap. The snap needs to be the finest quality contstruction possible. A snap that fails can result in a loose dog that could cause any number of problems, such as:
- Bite someone (in the case of a police dog or a personal protection dog)
- Run into the street and get hit by a car
- Result in a dog fight
Remember snaps don't break while they are hanging off the dogs neck. They break when the dog is straining into the leash trying to get something or go somewhere.
The next thing to look for in a good leash is to see how the snap is attached to the leather leash. If the leash is wide enough, the snaps should be sewn and pop-riveted. Most of our leather items are sewn and riveted.
*Our Amish leather products are made with American-made leather that is stained using natural oils and dyes. There is a possibility that some color may transfer on some of these leather products. We recommend that you use discretion when using this product with lighter colored clothing.
