This Two Dog Lead is 5/8 inch wide. Our Leerburg dog training leashes are the finest leather dog leashes that money can buy.

Our dog leashes are made from soft latigo leather and high quality stainless steel snaps. You will never find a leash of this quality in any pet store or dog food warehouse.

The snaps on our leather dog leashes and collars are made from the highest quality stainless steel. These snaps are generally sewn and then pop riveted to insure the highest security available. This is very important in Schutzhund and police protection training where a broken leash can cause disaster.

Leerburg leather products are works of art.

The cow hides used to make all of Leerburg's leather are hand selected for Leerburg before tanning. We need and use the thickest hides available. Our hides go through over 85 steps in a tanning process that takes over a month. There are many types of Latigo leather that are made in Mexico, India, or Pakistan, but none can compare to the quality of Leerburg’s Latigo leather.

Once tanned, our Leerburg Leather is delivered to the Amish family that crafts our leather products right here in Wisconsin. Our 4 Amish craftsmen have been making Leerburg leather products since 1990.

These 5 Amish craftsmen hand cut, sew, pop-rivet, and tailor all of our leather products. We have yet to come across another leather product that measures up to our products' quality.

In 2015, we switched from using brass or bronze hardware to stainless steel. Stainless Steel is stronger and lasts a lifetime. You can go and find a cheaper leather product somewhere else, but the quality will not measure up to our products.

100% of Leerburg leather products are made in Wisconsin. We don't use leather from India, Pakistan, or Mexico.

Care

RESTORE | WATERPROOF | PROTECT

Start by wiping away any loose dirt, buildup, and surface contaminants, then scrub with Spot Cleaner in circular motions using a soft-bristle brush. Once clean, allow the leather to dry fully before conditioning.

Once fully dry, begin conditioning by applying a small amount of Leather Cream onto a lint-free cloth and rub in circular motions until the leather is fully coated. Allow it to dry for one hour, adding more coats if needed, then let it cure for 24 hours.

I actually made m6 own coupler many years ago but this one fit my current needs perfectly. This year I’ve had two leash coupler failures examining the break it was easy to the effect of poor quality material plus the effect of hydrogen imbrittlement. I studied this both in engineering school and in industry. As a result I switched all my leashes to stainless steel or bronze clips. Many years ago while training Schutzhund dogs a LADY’s leash clip broke and I got my first dog related trip to the ER. I promptly switched all of m6 leashes to bronze or stainless then. Also had collar buckles break. So today I have an Aussie that is well trained but she is a wanderer if loose. So I decided to get this coupler to compliment my two handle leash. I’ve been using a Hermsprenger prong collar but as the video notes these do come apart occasionally. I used a similar collar way back in my younger days with no issues even though my couple was available “just in case”. So I watched 5he video with interest and I liked the quality of my current Leerburg leash but the prong was always a liability. I didn’t want a loose dog so I purchased yours. Guess what? The very first day I used it my Aussie got in some tall wet grass and came out shaking her head to get rid of the water. Well the prong went flying.....the short distance it could connected to the coupler! This thing really saved the day! It’s now a standard hook up when we go out. The only thing is between the leash and prong small dia wire and the coupler it’s pretty heavy. On a GSD not a problem by my Aussie is only 60 pounds. Being an engineer I did lookup some other materials that the prong could be made from. titanium stands out as a good bet however it might take special bending process. I may make an attempt to build a temporary bending fixture and make some experimental parts . More later on.

This is a MUST HAVE if you have 2 dogs. I use this with the Leersburg Police Leash to walk my GSDs, practically hands free. Best of all, they adapted to it right away. The leather is very high quality and it is extremely well made. I strongly recommend! This is one of those purchases you will not regret making. You can’t go wrong with anything from Leerburg!!

This is a great product. When I take my two Australian Shepherds for a walk, I use this. I can walk them with one hand and I don't have to worry about all the extra leash I used to have when walking two dogs. The leather is soft and the snaps are high quality.
