1999 WPO Championships
Uploaded on January 2, 2008 •
2 hr, 2 min
This video was filmed in Augsburg, Germany in September 1999. This WPO championships was the last police dog championship that will be held along with the SV Bundessieger. I have written an article on this issue and posted it to my web site. http://leerburg.com/99bundes.htm
This 2 hour video has two dogs tracks and 4 dogs doing their obedience routine, including the first and third place dogs along with Kevin Sheldahl's dog CJ from New Mexico. The video contains 6 dogs' protection routines, the first and third place dog, Kevin's dog CJ, a Giant Snauzer that takes the helper to the ground and Greg Momonee's dog Alk (from Michigan). Greg took 7th place which is the highest place any foreign competitor has ever finished in the WPO championships.
The image quality of this streaming video is nowhere near the quality it was when it was originally filmed. It is also nowhere near the quality of our current Leerburg training DVDs.
Many of the older dog shows and competitions were not encoded into a computer format until the video tapes were 20 to 25 years old. Over the years, the image quality of video tape deteriorates. These older dog shows are being offered for their historical significance. That's why we are streaming videos for its current price which originally sold for up to $100.00.
These videos are no longer offered on DVDs.
