In regards to not getting shots for puppies, does that mean you recommend that puppies don’t get any of their vaccines? If so, can that be detrimental?

I don’t feel it’s my place to tell others what to do when it comes to vaccines for their dogs. I do, however, suggest that every dog owner learn about the pros and cons of vaccines and make their choices from a stance of education, not just blindly following what “someone” tells them is right (whether that is a vet or me or anyone else) We don’t give our dogs any vaccines here, even when they are puppies. This is a choice we have made based on past experiences and countless hours of research. Rabies is required by law in all states, but I put off getting this vaccine as long as possible. I give these books to our puppy customers so they can become more educated on how vaccines work and the risks involved. Five sets of shots for a puppy is a ridiculous amount of vaccines and is extremely outdated science as well. I personally believe that many of today’s dogs health issues are linked to poor diet and over vaccination. I didn’t come to my current beliefs overnight, it’s been a process that’s taken quite a long time and a lot of thought. I am an advocate for the dog, but I believe to be an effective advocate I need to encourage people to ask questions and think for themselves.
