My 11 year old mixed breed dog with mammary tumors was bred by the 10 month old Pit bull puppy my sister gave me. I tried everything to keep them apart but it seems like she wanted to get pregnant so we decided to let her. I’m now worried about feeding the puppies and her health and would like some advice.

I'm not sure how to start this email so I will just dive in. I was in search of info on newborn bottle feeding and came across your PDF. Now please don't shoot me! I have an 11 year old Boxer/Pit mix who has mammary tumors and several other small tumors all over. Up until about a year ago mama was in good health. Her main problem was just her ears. ALWAYS with a yeast ear infection and always had skin allergies, which she currently has. We never spayed her because when she was young we wanted to breed her but it never happened and as she got older the vets said she's kinda old to spay. About 2 months ago my sister stuck me with her 10 month old pit puppy. My female went into heat and I TRIED EVERYTHING to keep them separated. I could not keep her crated as her legs are bad and she could barely walk coming out of the laundry room she was confined too. And if I crated the male, he would howl and try to eat the cage attempting to chip and break his show dog teeth! So the accident happened and my bitch was mounted. I became very scared as she is so old and now has health problems. Every forum I have gone on says to get her aborted! My issue is that if I abort her, I have to put her to sleep and they didn't want to do a biopsy on her tumors because they didn't think she could tolerate the sedation. So if I aborted her, I could lose her and the pups. Apparently she was very adamant to get pregnant. This is what she wanted so we have decided to let her do this. We understand we may lose her, we may lose the pups or both, but God has to be on our side some where! A vet tech I spoke with told me that pregnancy will speed up her cancer and she will probably not make it long. My question to you is that since the puppies are not going to get the colostrums what should I do? Will your formula be enough? Also, what should I do for mama when this is all said and done? I am so worried about uterine infections and etc... I will have to take her to the vet the next day I am sure but I am just very scared.
