Would your heeling DVD be appropriate for a toy dog?
Full Question:
Hello there. Your focus heeling DVD has been recommended to me. I have a toy fox terrier with several titles on him. However, his weakness is heeling. I have tried everything I know and then some...lol Would the DVD be appropriate for a toy dog?Thank you so much.

Cindy's Answer:
The heeling DVD is for all dogs, although the exercises are easier if you have a taller dog (so you don’t need to bend down).
I’ve raised & trained all my dogs using the methods shown in the Michael Ellis series and I am currently training a very small Border Terrier.
The videos work as a complete system, the recommended list (in order) is:
The Power of Training Dogs with Food
The Power of Playing Tug with your Dog
Advanced Concepts in Motivation
Focused Heeling with Michael Ellis
If you have a strong foundation in reward based training and using markers, you can probably just view the Heeling video and do just fine.
You may want to take a look at this clip too, I filmed this at Michael’s school in California.
I hope this helps.
