When my pup and I are playing, he sometimes bites and when I stenly say NO. He stops but then "talks back" barking and moaning. I have to say NO 2 more times for that to stop. What would be the reason he is doing this? And how can I correct the attitude he gets when I tell him No?

I have a Red heeler/GSD mix. He is 12 weeks old and has been a perfect puppy. He sits before we go out and come in. I have established I am the pack leader. He does not listen to anybody but me. I'm a little nervous about that because I have roommates. My problem is that when we are playing he sometimes bites and when I sternly say NO. He stops but then "talks back" barking and moaning. I have to say NO 2 more times for that to stop. What would be the reason he is doing this? And how can I correct the attitude he gets when I tell him No?Thank you,

I’d find another way to redirect his biting and stop saying NO when he barks. You are going to create a habit of barking at you that WILL get worse as he gets older. If he does bark I’d simply turn my back on him and not give him any reinforcement whatsoever. He needs to learn that doing this makes EVERYTHING stop. He’s doing it to get you to keep interacting and it can become a big problem later.>

I’d also recommend the DVD, Your Puppy 8 weeks to 8 Months.
