Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me. I'm trying to teach my dog an emergency down from a distance and I'm having a hard time finding this in all your Q&As. So, I was wondering if you had maybe one of your short videos on your website on how to do this or if you could direct me to where to find it in your Q&A. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Ed Ed's Answer:
We don’t have anything written on an emergency down.

Bottom line is that in reality you're talking about a DOWN UNDER DISTRACTION.

You simply train the dog to down. When it is 100% trained and knows the down, you add the training with a remote. Then you gradually add distractions at a distance and shorten the distance and level of distraction.

Don’t underestimate how important it is to have the dog know and understand the mean of the DOWN command before the remote is used.
