Do you have any info on teaching a dog to respect the road and avoid cars?
Full Question:
Hi Ed and Cindy, Do you have any articles or other info on teaching dog to respect road/cars or to avoid cars? As a child, my family lost 2 dogs to road and one other injured.
Thanks
Cindy's Answer:
The best way to prevent a dog from being killed or injured by cars is to have a physical fence in place and a rock solid recall (in case the dog gets out of the fence).
Training the Recall DVD
No matter how well trained the dog, unless they are fenced or directly supervised, it's just too dangerous for them to be near roads.
