Hello. Sure love the information you all provide. It has helped me establish a solid relationship with my German Shepherd dogs. I have a question about having 2 German Shepherds at home. My 45 lb. spayed female is scared of our 90 lb. intact (but soon to be neutered) male. She hides and barks when he is out. As a result only one dog can be out at a time. Any tips for settling the female down? Thanks
How old are both your dogs and how long have you had them?
Cindy Rhodes
The female is 10 months and we have had her for 8 months.
The male is 9 months and we have had him for 2 months.
I'd suggest going back to basics with the new dog as if you just brought him into your home.
I would read the article Ed wrote on introducing dogs. Here is a video about this as well.
I would not allow the newer dog to be loose, I'd work on teaching them both that you have certain rules and expectations of them. I'd suggest the video Pack Structure for the Family Pet.

Will do. Thank you very much!!
