I own a CHOW mix and I cannot get home owners insurance and it is because of people like you!!
Full Question:
I have a Chow Lab mix that is 7 years old and we have had her since she was 3 months old. She has always been around children and is a real lover with no aggressive tendencies. Now I just bought a new house and to my horror the insurance companies will not insure the house because of the dog. Does everyone have the same problem when they own a Chow mix or are there insurance companies which aren't so narrow minded? I am disturbed that so many of your correspondents seem to want aggressive (protective) dogs. I am sure that has impacted the attitude of insurance companies.Jim Rhyner

Just to humor you I will make a few comments:
- If it were not for people like me there would be no police service dogs, S&R dogs in this country.
- If it were not for people like me families and women who get robbed and assaulted would not have options other than guns.
- The VAST MAJORITY of dog bites are to family members.
- The VAST majority of dog bites are from untrained unsupervised dogs
- There are many more dumb asses that own normal family dogs that NEVER TRAIN their dogs that then bite people, than there are people like me who promote responsible dog training.
- Find another insurance company and quit your crying !!
