Simply that the breeder hasn't taken the time to do so? Because I can trace my dog's sire back as many generations as I would like, but cannot find his dam on there at all. If he doesn't than he should still have the responsibility to register her or ask the people that do to do so. I suggest talking to the breeder. Abigal von der Mueller

But the father is AKC registered and there are some dogs in his lineage that aren't registered in the database. If you have all the information on your pedigree, you can fill in the gaps for the database and they will enter these dogs on their site.

Maybe she didn't have it when she was registered on the database.
