I got a new puppy!!! His name is Apollo (I'm thinking of changing his name though) and he is 6 months old. He's such a cool dog, he's been here for a day and a half and acts like he owns the place, lol. He's going to be a great dog, I cant wait to see him grow.
Here are some pics I took the night I brought him home,
Nice looking pup! Changing his name isn't a big deal. We did that with our now 11 year old GSD when we got him. He was a year and a half old and his name was Robin-we changed it to Rommel and it didn't seem to phase him one bit
Robin was to "girly" for him anyway.
Have fun with Apollo, soon to be named??????????????????
Oh I'm having tons of fun, Sandy. His true personality is starting to come out and he is B-A-D, lol. He has a serious case of th puppy zoomies, . He's great though, everything I could have wanted, and then some.
BTW, your Lear is beautiful. His head..WOW!!! Striking dog!!!
I am reading the bios of the board users and their dogs, and I saw your post. Forgive me for asking, but what does that kind of lineage mean (I cannot spell it, never heard from this before)?

The lineage means that he is from strong (strong) working dog bloodlines out of the old Czech Republic's Border Patrol Kennel (z Pohranicni Straze).
This is an extreme simplification of the many forces that led us to where we are today (including global conflict and communism) but, basically, dogs were bred exclusively for working qualities in the z Pohranicni Straze kennel. This means that a lot of the old (and current) z Pohranicni Straze dogs have a great chance of passing those exceptional working traits (Drive, solid nerve, steady temperament, etc) on to their offspring. These modern day offspring do not fit the physical standard for "Beauty" that the AKC (and even the SV) hold as the "End all be all" of GSD's. They are not bred with physical looks as a consideration. Instead of breeding two dogs to produce "pretty" offspring (without consideration for combining two complimentary dogs for a balanced, hard working dog) these dogs are bred to work. If you want a strong working prospect, z Pohranicni Straze in the lineage is likely to be a fantastic contributer.
