Now 80, why Dr. Miller waited until 2006 to get online is not clear.
If he had, usenet might be a friendlier place.
But now we know where the "science" came from, and why it works,
whether with instruments and costs, or soda cans, coins and free text.
I clicked on his site. Who here has actually used or seen used the "method" he is selling on his site.
I have never heard of him or his method before. Valid or snake oil?
I see that his method relies entirely on timing, which we all know is critical in dog training. I guess my question would be then specifically on the "instruments" that he uses and what benefit they have.

Edit reason: more thoughts
I've only started reading it, but basically, you use sound to both
install a command by alternating commands with and without sound,
and extinguishing misbehaviors with sound only, then praise and redirects. method described on site teaching COME How he came up with the chains
Then you do this in 4 places or 4 different environments to seal the deal by generalizing it...because we all know chewing on a shoe in the living room is different (if you're a dog) than chewing on one found by the backdoor!
Sound familiar?
It's well written, thus easy to understand.
I'll elaborate further upon finishing it. I spoke with the man for 2 hours, on his dime, and can tell you we should hope to be as lucid if we get to be 80!
I wouldn't ignore anyone with decades of experience, which led me to this site in the first place. While I've had dogs for over thirty years, there's always something to learn about shaping behavior.

Well I might if it was decades of experience doing things the wrong way. I too am always open and trying to learn new ways.
I am not new to dogs, but new to making sure that the dog I own is well trained and obedient.
When I saw your post in the reviews section I assumed you were posting a review!
Will look forward to the actual review when you've finished reading and trying out some of the concepts with your dogs.
