Check out this link and story. I can't believe that this sort of thing could actually be possible. And we wonder why we can't get decent, fair laws and spay neuter help for people from our goernment?
I would want to know the whole story before I was so quick to condemn. It may be his pet (shameshame) but it may be a stray who wound up in his hands.
In my part of SC, animal control does NOT go on private property to round up strays. They tell us to "catch them ourselves" and call animal control when we get them.
I am dead serious; it took months of haggling with Animal control and newspaper articles when a pack of strays was killing cats and small dogs and threatening kids at bus stops before they set out traps to get the dogs.

Ya know Nancy, I agree with you 100% here.
We all know the media does not get all the facts before printing stuff, so I would like to hear the "whole" story as well.

While I think the whole story would be nice to hear with what ever hearts and flowers or condemnations that go with that tale.
My interest is rescueing the dog from her seemingly destined fate. There must be some org. or individual in S. Carolina willing to take on another what looks to be a fine GSD.
Somebody down in that neck of the woods, HELP!

I will try and give a call down there on tomorrow and "nose" around to see what the "Paul Harvey" is. Marion/Mullins is about 45 minutes from me. To be quite blunt though, I am not suprised by what I have read. The area is very rural and poor. I am really suprised that it has not been featured in Myrtle Beach's The Sun News since it has caught a little "web" attention. Searching, this was only thing I could locate on Williams;

Cool Tony,
Sure enough keep us posted. And thank you for posting the status of the town too.
I am almost thinking it was probably (hopefully) a stray and he thought he was doing the right thing by having her picked up.
You would think people, especially in his position, would really think before doing things like that.
