Our club adjourned for the holidays; we had not met since December 20.
Today we met very early for breakfast and to do a little club business, and to show off our holiday gifts.
I wasn't really surprised, but I was pretty impressed to discover how much "dog stuff" from Leerburg took center stage. I even heard about stuff I wasn't aware of!
I ordered things from LB all year, including books and videos, toys, fleece mats, and of course marker treats. It was hard for me to narrow it down to my favorite three! (We had twelve people there and someone said "What were your three best purchases or gifts?")
But I came up with these, because of the huge effect they each had in some way on my dogs and on me:
Power of Training Dogs with Markers DVD http://leerburg.com/219.htm
First the books and articles, and then (gigantic leap) this video changed my training profoundly, both with my own dogs and others.
Plastic Heating Pad http://leerburg.com/742.htm
I wish that I had owned this for every senior and/or arthritic dog I have ever owned. I won't be without one again.
I would love to read what other folks bought or received for training or health or other dog stuff.
I didn't get lucky enough to have anybody buy me my Leerburg stuff this past holiday season, but I did splurge on the marker training video and an egge. The egge was a huge hit! My dog flipped out when she first saw it and as soon as she tried to get her mouth on it, she became uncharacteristicaly vocal. She loves it! I loved the marker video and have been training my dog to do some new tricks with the method. My 5 year old dog has been an enthusiastic learner with marker training while she used to just perform what she knew for treats. I'm training her to put her foot on a 2x10x10 piece of wood (for lack of anything better to do...) on command, and it's going really well. She is also learning to jump a stick that started on the floor and is now about a foot off the floor. She runs around the stick sometimes, but i just say "nope" and start again. I love it!
My favorites are the Pack Leadership DVD - Simon and Huey Treats - well I guess those would be Bruno's - and Dealing with Dominant and Aggessive Dogs. I have learned so much since I first stumbled upon this website and from the dvd's!
Great topic!
I have never had so much fun with a puppy since discovering this Leerburg site!
My dog loooves the Buster Cube. She just goes crazy with it, batting it around like a hockey puck. She poops herself out, which is great for me!
She also loves the LED ball, I got the many coloured one. I turn out the lights and watching her play with it is very entertaining.
Picking a third is harder, as many of the other things I ordered are great too. I loved the the Sport of Schutzhund book. The photographs are just beautiful! A wonderful book for not alot of money.... I have really enjoyed all the DVD's I've gotten....
and those Bully sticks are a dream also, many hours of chewing out of one of those.
