Redpaw Performance Dog Food. I've never heard of it before and the website does not include the ingredients. I have a new pup coming tomorrow. The website is http://redpawfeed.com. I have to leave in a minute so if I don't respond, I'm not ignoring you, be back ASAP.
Thanks

I'm sure somebody out there has more specific information, but according to this website:
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/
"...research at Purdue University has identified fat in the top four ingredients of dry dogs foods as a factor increasing the risk of bloat in large breed dogs. The presence of citric acid as a preservative means that this food should not be pre-moistened prior to feeding (pre-moistening of foods preserved with citric acid has also been identified as a factor increasing the risk of bloat)."
And, according to the ingredient list posted above, fat is listed as the third ingredient and it is preserved with citric acid.

I have friends that feed it to their Rotts and are happy with it. I wouldnt though. The corn and brewers rice are nothing I want in a diet and although I have read reasons for avoiding beet pulp I have also read that it has something to do with prebiotics/probiotics.
If I remember right the case against it made more sense to me at the time, so I stay away from it. Cellulose or something slowing down digestion or constipating. Connie would be able to give you a better answer then mine on that.

So the beet pulp doesnt digest or something, and clogs up the pipes maybe?

Not supposed to as much as in each kibble...it is supposed to be well divided...
who knows really. I emailed a company about doing a study on the shelf life of vitamins, minerals, and oils...how they stand up to humidity, etc for the "life" of the product and never got an answer as to the rancidity, levels, etc of their product.
I thought it should have been a no brainer study myself.
