Hey everyone, I have a question about the length of time(years), that choke chain use is safe. I always have used it on my 3 year old male Pitbull. I walk him everyday and hardly ever have to "pop" him during these walks.I was wondering if there's a time that I should go to a flat collar to prevent any health or injury issues that may arise. Thanks, Nick
If he's a well-mannered fellow, just clip your line to the dead ring instead. Either way, as long as he's not leaning into the collar and putting pressure on his trachea all the time, you're fine. Personally, I like the prong over the choke collar if I have to go to corrections tho.
Thanks, that is a better idea. I just recently went to a harness for walks, but they're sorta annoying to put on and take off. Plus, I like having the correction there if I need it.
Thanks for the help...Nick
