Our vehicles are on their way to Oregon with our household goods. We are flying with our eight children. We didn't realize flying Legend would be such a nightmare. We have everything - health certificate, etc. and now the airlines are saying they can't ship a dog/crate combined weight of over 100 pounds. Anyone have ANY suggestions? We're desperate.

One way trip is $149.00.Flights are scheduled in the evenings when there is less turbulence. Its a turbo prop plane that carries about 50 pets. An attendant stays on board to montitor the animals.

When we adopted our GSD from California (to Texas) at the end of 2008, we used American Airline Cargo service because the combined weight was over 100 lbs.
All the service agents from American Airline along the way were very helpful. After everyone boarded the plane, the pilot announced through the intercom to let my husband know that his dog was on board as well.
