this was posted on another board but I am interested in opinions since I have a grand daughter off of this male.
Please bear with me as I ask my stupid questions as I am really trying to learn..
Zidane is my dogs grandad and from reading about him on the internet it seems that he was considered a great dog in his day (correct me if I am wrong..!)
There aren't very many video clips of him working, but here is one from the WUSV in 2004.
I am just not experienced enough to tell what is good bitework as opposed to just ordinary. I can tell a really rubbish dog (that runs off the field lol) but is there anything in that vid that shows Zidane as a good dog and if so could someone point it out to me so I can learn please?
One of things someone told me to watch for when a dog is doing protection work is the eyes -- you could see a lot of intent and intensity.
From what I've seen, that seems to hold true. You can see the dog's confidence -- good ones will stare right into the helper. They want to own him. Weaker dogs will start looking away, rolling their eyes and show unsureness.
do you mind if I post these comments for a lady on another board. Everything below the first line was from the lady on the other board. I don't know why she's not over here I doubt she's banned cause she is very nice but she is from Italy maybe that has something to do with it. I don't want to steer her to another site on there site and I wouldn't try to steer someone away from here either. Zidane is both of our dogs grand father though. thank you for your comments
