Today I worked on a few things.
First I worked on leave-it when I went through the gate while the neighbors boxer-bull barked at us. Logan didn't react at first then glanced, I said leave it and he immediately responded to me and did a very nice sit and wait while I opened the gate and exited in front on him. He didn't even look at the other dog and got a treat for that. I think we embarrassed the owner but if she ever would ask I would gladly show her how-to.
Then we got past the horrid chihuahua pack, they stick their heads through the fence to bait Logan! He did very good after I reminded him 2x to leave it, he pranced next to me looking at me, in a semi heel, ignoring them. I wish I could simultaneously handle him and photograph that. Hilarious!.
Then later I worked on getting Logan to stand in between my legs (like in mondio ring)....he caught on and I a thinking, what should I call it? I can't use "place"...any ideas?
I also worked on other positions with him, like getting on my lap and staying from either side or sit close facing me. Useful in public.
I say he's gotten pretty far lately. Thanks to anyone who has given me advice, you know who you are.

I had the little monster out for some loose leash walking in the heel position. Sitting when I stopped, slowing down when I slowed down, left & right turns in the heel position, and the stop command. That was our morning 1 mile walk. He did very well, but had to be reminded under distractions.
Later in the morning we worked on proper feet positions in the sit, down, up, and stand. He's figuring it out, if his dad was better at his timing with marking rewards he'd probably have it.
In the afternoon we did a quick round of recall on a long line, then played some light tug since he's still teething.
Overall it was a productive day. He's a smart boy and still learning self-control, not bad for 5 1/2 months old though.
Cassy & Leo enjoying a nap.

LOL. I taught Sadie that tonight; I didn't want to call it "Place", so I used "Crotch". I thought about "Nuts", but imagined myself snickering when I give the command.
We worked on jumps and OB to get ready for BH, and we did a short track to reinforce her first two lessons earlier in the week.

OH!
We are working on how to get the stupid sheep (or perhaps not stupid) herded up when they go under, around and among horses. The dog is not allowed to herd horses, it's been a real pickle to separate sheep at night.
We are also working on "bring the bulls" with me outside the fence -- the bulls are feeling the spring and I'm glad I have a dog.

We continue to work on helping Jethro remain calm when distractions from the outside world send him over the edge. At the same time, we are working on his OB in these same situations. Last, we are working on desensitizing him to known distractions using treats, OB, and moving away from the distraction (out of zone).
We have been focusing on the calming aspect of this triage and it has been paying off hugely.

LOL I may need him to do this in public so I wouldn't want to use crotch or twat! I can't use "through" either (that's for weeving). I'm stuck on that, luckily we're only on the marking phase.

I worked on getting automatic sits while heeling and the stand for examination with Foxy (we are training for competition obedience) And worked on positions (heeling position, place, down and sit) and touch pads with Nikita. Husband is polishing up focused heeling on his dog and opening and closing cabinet doors, pretty fun stuff

This morning we tracked with our club. This completed Sadie's first week of tracking. Last Sunday, our first ever effort was 30 feet with one soft turn. Our last track this morning was close to 100 feet with two turns. Sadie loves it, so I do too!
She's taking a well-deserved nap now, and I'm giving her the rest of the day off.
