One day, she said, "Would you like the car, dear?" and she left it to me. It was a great car for us until one bad cold snap, like -35 for days on end. My husband was on call that weekend and it sat in the parking lot and froze. It was never the same again. But it held value -- in l984, I traded it to a builder for a new bathroom and bedroom addition. I'm the proud owner of a 1996 Ford F-250 Subercab, 110,000 miles. The only thing you don't want to do with a PU (especially a gas engine) is calculate your fuel economy, especially when towing a 12,000 pound trailer. I do have a fantasy about a classic car or two of my own, though (she said wistfully...)
