Partial quote from a sample message to the AVMA:
Should you decide to pass the policy against raw meat pet foods, we (animal owners) will know why. It will be crystal clear. We'll know that Big Pet Food has bought and paid for this policy and your vote. Won't it be a sad day when a national veterinary organization proves they actually work for Big Pet Food instead of working to protect the health of animals.

This morning I did use the email address provided in the link above.
I used "AVMA Council on Public Health and Regulatory Veterinary Medicine" as my subject line.
I said:
Good morning!
Would you please provide me with contact info for the dog-owning public to submit comments on the August meeting to decide on a policy to discourage the feeding to cats and dogs of any animal source protein that has not first been subjected to a process to eliminate pathogens?

They can't make a law that prevents me from buying groceries and feeding them to anybody I want to, including my dogs.
But if you create a petition, I'll sign it. But this sounds like a done deal. I fear it's just one more example of the corporate ownership of everything.

What if the goal is a step-by-calculated-step plan to wipe out the small farms that produce raw dog food (rabbit meat, green tripe, etc., etc.) and the companies like Bravo, Steve's, and others that allow owners who are nervous about compiling their own dog's raw diet (or strapped for time) to purchase pre-made, balanced, fresh or frozen raw diets.
