Today I took Cody to Petsmart again for fear training. He did well. No men working today when I was there, but he still got to meet different people and see different things, and sounds. Then we took a short walk. He did well.
Bindi- Worked on front and for fun, the box and the command "push" and "scratch" she has a blast doing that. And really doesn't like to stop when I cut it short.
I used the touch pad on the front to perfect her entry and sit so that it would not be crooked. SHe did excellent. Will fade that out in time.
We jumped around and heeled too. Something she finds very fun. WE hop back and forth and she had to keep up with me. She thinks I am nuts!
When I put Bindi and Cody to bed it is terra's turn to be trained. Will work on the box for awhile. Too late to do things that cause her to bark.

Today, Carlin and I worked on reinforcing the "Yes!" marker (he learned it yesterday with steak), and then practiced eye contact and sit, then we started down and touch (no commands yet, just working on the motor pattern).
I charged the mark by saying "Yes!" then reaching for a treat, and moving backwards to emphasize that the mark is also a release. I could tell he was catching on as he was releasing his sits and coming to get a treat before I even have a chance to move my hand.
I'm also alternating which hand to feed, and getting treats from hidden locations strategically placed around the house, in addition to my bait bag.
Would it be cruel to practice stays today? Its pouring down rain and windy from this storm coming in. I guess if I don't make them too long and give lots of praise and then fetch. He could use a challenge.
I wish I could make videos of him in the rain, with his head down and ears down, he looks like a stalking hyena.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
