Was it Irish food? What made the mash minty? Mint leaves added? Was the broccoli deep-fried
( yessss!).
I love broccoli and its pale cousin, cauliflower.
You know what I love from the British Isles? The pub food called "Plowman's Lunch."
I think it's generally extra-sharp cheese (Cheddar type), chutney, and crusty bread, sometimes with hard-cooked eggs. And for me, it must also have pickles (any type, from mustard pickles to sweet pickles).
