I would fully support that dog being PTS. There was more than enough time for it to realize it had a human rather than the bike and it kept going. That's no little nip either.
Awesome cat. It may have been more of a territorial thing but it still saved that kid from further injury.

I liked that it showed two angles, including the dog seeing the kid and deciding to act. I've seen my share of dog bites in person and recorded, but that was an unusual one.
I initially thought the dog was going for the bike wheel, which would be annoying but not real dangerous or aggressive. Strange how silent the approach was, of course I'm used to vocal shepherds, but that was all about predation.
The Mom seemed frazzled, but the cat had it together and got the job done. Good cat!

Back in the 60s when I was at university, my adult Basenji raised a kitten I got when it was 7 weeks old -- My dog could go into the Backyard to do his business, but the cat was an indoor/outoor Feline who (of course) did not always stay inside the backyard Fence ... He was very territorial toward DOGS and would regularly run ALL sizes & temperaments of the Canine Persuation out of our Frontyard !!! This taught me that dogs want NO PART of a "killer cat", LOL.
1. That was NOT provoked...
2. WHY was it loose???
3. They HAD to know it was aggressive!!!
4. That dog probably some kind of brain disorder/genetic issue that even an expert would not want to fool with or be responsible for.
5. IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A COLLAR ON!!!
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
When I saw this video at first I was really surprised too at what on earth provoked the bite? Looks like from updates, the dog will be euth, as it should be.
