I cut up meat rolls to use as training treats. I started out using Natural Balance years ago, but considering how much I was using (half of my dog's daily food consumption), I wanted to find something more nutritious. I switched to Red Barn because they were available here and they were highly rated by that dog food rating website. I have been very happy with them, with the caveat that I did find them to crumble easily, especially the drier meats. However, I recently purchased a roll of these,
Happy Howies Meat Rolls
They are nutritious, made in the USA, and I like the consistency better. The pricing is right in line with the other products, and even much better than Natural Balance if you consider how much healthier they are.

The happy howie's look just like a human sausage stick!
I stopped buying commercial grade treats a long time ago. I found they were way to expensive per lb and the ingredients + all the recalls for dog food really put me off. So I started dehydrating my own meat and am much happier. All my training friends started calling me the 'crack dealer' as their dogs stopped paying attention to them and started loving on me! Needless to say, they all had to start making their own treats to. Here's a link to the dehydrated turkey breast I recently made. After I dry I cup up into piece size specifically for each size dog.

Oh, wanted to add that I pay an average of $1.25 per lb for real meat treats.

S'OK Duane- A lot of people just don't have the time or inclination to make their own treats. I always SAY I am going to and then I just run out of time. For people like me, the Happy Howie's treats are a great alternative to home made.
One of the reps from Happy Howie's came to Leerburg yesterday - very nice fellow.
It is an ALL AMERICAN product, made from fresh and healthy ingredients... yeah, I'll keep buying them for my dogs. They last a long time if you use small pieces in training, they don't crumble all to dust, and even Drift the Picky Eater loves them.

Before...but depending on how thin you slice the meat and how long you dehydrate them, will make a difference if they come out like beef jerky or more like oven cooked, which helps with water retention and weight (mine in the pic still have lots of water in them, as I'm training a pup and need to be able to break into even smaller pieces.) Even if I'm paying $2.50/lb after dehydrating it's still cheaper than store bought at $5-7.50/lb with no fillers or additives. It's a great way to keep raw fed dogs on raw.

Sorry, Duane, I wasn't trying to take away from a store bought treat, just presenting alternatives for those who are raw feeders. Carry on!

Not only are they made in the USA (in my home state, matter of fact, the Motor City), but on their website, they list all ingredients plus the source of all the ingredients. So they're made in the USA, and all ingredients are from the USA, too!

They are an all natural treat - made and sourced FULLY in the USA.
Tonya, just because dogs are fed raw, that doesn't mean you can't give them commercial treats - my dogs are on raw, and 3 of them have never tasted kibble. These treats are LIGHT YEARS away from the way kibble is made and processed, and as a raw feeder, I am happy to see that treats like these are available for my dogs.
ALL of the ingredients in the Happy Howie's treats are ALL NATURAL. If you open the link http://leerburg.com/HappyHowies.htm and scroll down, it lists the ingredient, where it was sourced, and what purpose it serves.
Just as an aside, Jeff had some of the Happy Howie's treats cut up on the counter in the training center for training with Sonny, and someone (not me, but they shall remain nameless) thought it was cut up summer sausage and ate a couple of pieces He said it wasn't too bad
