Hi
This is my first post. I have been lurking and reading everything on this board. It has been a great help. I will be getting my puppy next week. A working GSD. I was thinking of using Chicken Soup food. But I have seen ads saying I should use a large breed puppy food. But I have only found this on brands I don't want to use. Is this just advertising or should I look for this. If I feed the chicken soup brand when should I switch to the adult formula. Any help would be appreciated because trying to figure out the best is driving me nuts. Thanks Bob

Bob, how old is your puppy? I never fed my puppies puppy brand food, if that makes you feel any better! I just feed them more often, and I think the Chicken Soup food looks to be decent, but there are other brands which are good too if you are going to opt out of raw. I also like Solid Gold, Eagle Pack Premium Holistic, Canidae, California Naturals, Innova....hope this helps you! Good luck!!
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
The puppy will be 8 weeks old when I pick him up. All those brands looked good to me. Chicken soup and innova are available in my town and chicken soup was cheaper.
Rob... chicken soup is good stuff if cost is an issue. When I got my last pup I went with Royal Canin large breed puppy and I kept him on the large breed puppy for 18 Months. It was suggested by my pet food supplier and I got whole hearted support to do this from my vet.
