I yust finished reading 5th edition of 'Tracking Dog' and it was fun read, especially part on deployment of gas leak detection dogs.
Need your opinion on methods and program though, book being dated a bit and all...
I don't have problem with intensity of program, but have question about reusing tracks (i was told not to do that), his comment about body odor being the first to go from the track (and than reading about those crazy dogs from netherlands police, and all hst for that matter) and dog having trouble switching from body to track scent and continuing the track(but is able to continue when changing vegetation cover, which too smell differently).
All in all, i liked the book and will give it a try in training (with some modifications if needed).
p.s.
this is maybe posted in wrong place, not being review really...
