We live a few hours from Triple Crown Academy and I was considering leaving my 7 month old male GSD there for a few weeks for training. He has really gotten wild in the past month despite my two mile walks every night. He just broke a very expensive piece of furniture (handler mistake).
My wife is starting to suspect that I might not be the best dog trainer. He is very sweet and is very good at obedience when you have the ability to correct him.
We did the first HOT trial there several years ago, I was very impressed with the facility. And we recently had a club member attend their trainers course and he came back with a solid base to develop his handler/ training skills with.
But as far as leaving a dog with them to train, unfortunately I haven't heard anything about that category of training by them....
Thanks, I have not heard anything negative about them. I am just worried about leaving my dog with them or anybody for that matter. The logistics really prevent any other type of training arraingment.

I don't know anything about the academy, but I do know that when I bought my first e-collar (a POS Petsafe one), the training manual that came with it was a Triple Crown manual. It was a pretty good manual.

Where are you located? I just got my puppy from Triple Crown, and I was very impressed, however I have heard mixed stories on the whole board and train thing at Triple Crown.
Is it not possible to find a more local training facility and take classes? Just a thought.
Hey Trent,
I was born and raised in Lake Charles so I know where about you are. I would also, give roger abshire a look, he has all the law enforcement contracts down there, Louisiana state police, Lake charles PD and many others, he has a good facility. His kennel name is USk9unlimited, in Kaplan, Louisiana. You can google it and find his link.
Triple Crown is a first class operation. I would question anyone who has something negative to say about the way they treat animals. More training facilities should have Triple Crown standards.
The place is awsome, the staff is not. And I can say that with good reason in case mr.frawley need be question me in private. 900$ a week. My dogs like the lake though.
