I'm also a product of the 60's and 70's but have to admit that the 80's sure did produce some fine groups, too. That Cowboy Junkies album, The Trinity Session, is one of my all-time favorites. What a great story behind its production. An empty cathedral (great accoustics), four musicians clustered around one mic, one take, and the result is a rock classic.

I admit that when I saw the title, I expected this "Sweet Jane" ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FdWPeHFAMk (Lou Reed, Rock n Roll Animal, a long-loved favorite of mine)
But once I got over it, yes, that was great!
And it reminded me to listen to Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" again (for the thirteen millionth time).
That song was a tad before my time (I was a little kid when it came out), but that didn't matter once I discovered those 45s.
I paid 75 cents for that 45. The music store gave out tickets that they punched every time you bought a record. Once you got to 10 then you got on free.
My fav EP songs are still the early Sun record stuff then BA (Before Army) Elvis. The later stuff AA(After Army)got to commercial and corny but he still made some good stuff.
I saw him twice in concert and even the fat Elvis wasn't a disappointment.
I was in 7th grade when he came to St. Louis the first time. The shudder, shudder nuns told us on top of getting expelled we'd go to hell if we went to see him. I tried but couldn't afford tickets.

PS
Yes, the Sun Sessions are so great .... this would be my favorite if "Elvis Country" had not come along:
