just get it on paper---
Write whatever comes to your mind, it doesn't have to be in the order in which it happened. The stuff evaporates-- especially anything negative. We edit that in our own head so that we can face our day! Sooner than you think it's all gone.
Now you can remember the dialog -- in a year you'll be making it up.
I got the hint. I know it's been a whole day since I posted a chapter LOL
Thanks Betty, that's my plan. I do look over things from time to time, but I'm just highlighting sections I was to fix.

I'm enjoying every episode so much David, hope we aren't pressurizing you too much after a long day at work
I think everyone appreciates the time this takes for you to get it all down on 'paper' so thank you again for letting us be part of your amazing life with Fama

Thanks Tracy, I'm a lot thicker skinned than to let anyone pressure me into anything, let alone let it bother me. No need to worry
It's flattering that everyone wants to read our story. I felt like reading today instead of writing, so that's what I did. I have the next 4 days off, so I'm sure I'll be posting some episodes.

Feel I might have been rude, apologize -
I did large animal medicine for 20 yrs in a place that at the time was backward, 25 cow herds, lots of tiny farms, very provincial. Heartwarming/heartbreaking/ wacky/ scary/interesting stuff happened daily, I drove 60K miles per year in an area that was only about 20 miles wide, worked 14 hr days going farm to farm. Two sets of tires a year.
I thought so often of writing about it, even though others had done this. But I didn't, I had kids, a husband, no computer, no time.
Now I can't remember any of it!

I have never thought you were rude Betty. I enjoy all your posts. I'm in the Army remember. My definition of rude and your definition of rude are probably miles apart If you said, "Your mother f-word story is stupid, your dog sucks, and your mother wears combat boots!" I would reply in kind, but everything has been going great so far. I like all the feedback and suggestions. It gives me food for thought, as well as encouragement.
Keep up the good work, I can take it.

Dear David,
Thanks you for sharing your wonderful story. We foster Belgian Malinois puppies for the MWD program at Lackland here in San Antonio. It's very difficult to return the puppies at 7 months for them to begin their military training. Reading of your devotion to Fama makes it a little easier. We want to know that our puppies will lead useful working lives since they are so clearly bred for that, but it is also important to believe that their handlers will love and respect them. I can only hope that there are more handlers like you for them.
Thank you for your service to our country and your devotion to the dogs who work with you.

Nancy, thanks for what you do. The military Puppy Program produces some of the best dogs we have. That is in no small part due to the job that the foster homes do to bring the puppies along properly. I know you are dealing with some serious Maligators
IME, most handlers form an incredible bond with their MWDs. My story is not unique in the field. The dogs you raise are loved by their handlers, and they lead a really good life. You will see, after I get to it in the story, just what a fulfilling life a deployed working dog leads. They spend far more quality time with their handler compared to a pet dog living with someone.
What you do saves lives Nancy, and for that I am truly grateful.
