Dogtra 1700 NCP. You will like the digital read much more than one without. It also has a high power top end for that "I can take pain and you don't matter" mode. My chow's normal setting is 90-95 but the remainder is enough to break even a very bad aggression incident. My daughters boyfriend put it on and had me shock him at 127 on his neck. The first time he yelped and said it hurt, do it again. The second time he fell sat back into the couch and closed his eyes and said "I'm never doing that again."
Eric - I have a storey like yours. My oldest son (30) also named Eric is a diver in the Gulf. He went drinking with his girlfriends brother (a pilot) and several pilot friends.
Well they started talking about dog training and it came around to remote collars. So he goes out in the truck and gets his handy dandy Dogtra 1700.
They start at about 80 on their thigh - for 5 seconds then 10 seconds. By the time they got to 100 the whole bar was in stitches laughing.
Then the collar when on the forehead. Eric finally won because he could take 125 for 10 seconds on the forehead. But he said his fillings hurt and he had a hell of a head ach LOL
He said the moral of the story was that pilots were pussies.
They must have been pretty drunk! I've tried it as high as 60 and although it did not "hurt", I figured I'd take the companies word for it that 127, or 125, was not going to be a pleasant experience. It sure is a lot of fun to watch others try it though. I can only imagine how rowdy the bar was that night. Although there were times in Korea....nevermind.
