I'm wondering if it's your presence that makes the difference. Has he tried playing with her in the house when you're not home, and if so, does she play with him then?
Also, does your husband give her treats and praise when she's in the house when you're all together?
He gives her treats all the time.
I think now That I have been thinking about it it might be me.
But I don't know what I am doing.
Yes she will play with him in the house as soon As I walk in she is at my side.

Your puppy is probably more bonded to you than to your hubby, and this is why she comes to you rather than playing with your hubby when you are around.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but I am assuming you want her to be more "open" to hubby at all times.
You could try letting him feed her (even by hand if needed) while you are there. This will allow her to become more comfortable with him and learn that he is a person that can be trusted as well as you. Have him take her out to potty and even walk her a few times a week as well.

I'll toss this out as an idea...probably a little far-fetched but worth mentioning.
Animals are very sensitive to moods and to any changes in the environment....good or bad.
All of my animals are very "tuned in" to my BF and me. If one of us is upset, and especially upset with the other, cats and dog show some pretty odd behavior. When my BF is in the dog house with me, he's not in favor with the dog either
Stephanie, you do have a sweetheart of a puppy. You are still recovering from your recent losses and puppy may be picking up on that. The longer you have her the better you will feel. A little more "quality" time with your hubby may also do the trick. Just a quick question... is her hearing OK?
Just wanted to rule that out. Know of someone who picked up a timid puppy from a shelter and turns out it was deaf. From what I heard, grew up to be a good dog though.
