Thanks for the reassurance. I'm not really that worried about it right now. She seems to be perfectly healthy. I'll probably say something to the vet about it when I am there next.

I personally live trap strays myself. The ones with collars get tied to their owners porch as a one time courtesy. The rest go to the shelter. I have zero patience for cats or dogs that are loose in my yard.
As much as I hate to say it there are simply too many dogs and not enough decent owners. I would start taking them to the humane society. They'll get three days in most places then be humanely euthanized if nobody adopts them. If they have some form of ID like a collar or microchip they will try to find the owners and most of the time be given a time extension. In my area they don't get their dog back until a fine is paid and the dog is neutered/spayed if it hasn't already been done yet.
