Those dogs and a child's innocence of how serious the situation was saved him.
Good story.
I noticed in the story that he was smart enough to get rid of the diaper when it had outlived its usefulness. :-) Made me smile, picturing him tossing that bit of weight aside.
Yes, perhaps the fact that he was so young, he has not yet learned to fear darkness... jeez, thinking about that boy being in the darkness for two nights, just utter amazement...
I am with Connie.. "WOW, just WOW!"
But for sure, those dogs helped to keep him warm and I would bet that they watched over him for sure.

Dogs prolly ripped it off of him while foraging.
When my oldest daughter was in diapers the three dogs I had then just loved her when she had a bit of canned corn the day before. Couldn't hardly put her down and they were tugging on her.
The grandmother told a friend of mine that he had to walk to two creeks to get where they found him. For us that know that area well, we were more scared of coyotes and the weather (which actually dropped to the 40s) than anything else.
I truly believe that those dogs were his guardian angels also. I and others at work were talking about that we would join the search on Thursday, when the news came on our local radio station, you could hear everyone yelling and I don't think there was a dry eye in the place!
He is in the hospital now and considered in fine shape, so it is truly a miracle.
One thing about it, he sure will have stories when he grows up!
They didn'y say what the temps were, but if it's been like around here, pretty chilly at night, especially near-naked and wet. Sounds like the dogs probably kept him from becoming hypothermic.
