Yes, that is exactly it. I was ignorant of the "Papers" thing. I interviewed many GSDs before choosing this one. I think I got a great dog. I guess I was lucky. I looked up the breeder (Betty Dwiggins)- See below. I think she does run a mill. She is in MO and has newspaper articles about her for supporting dog auctions. I Googled her. I paid $1600 from a very nice Dog Store IMO. One of he best run stores I have ever seen. The store was well kept, dog rooms were very clean, Great temperature controlled environments. Good meeting place to choose your pup, etc. I interviewed this pup and two others at this particular store alone and together with me in a private room. I am very happy with the dog. I have tracked down some of the sires and dams, and some of them check out very well.

The AKC's Management Disciplinary Committee has suspended Betty Dwiggins (Macon, MO) from all AKC privileges for a period of five (5) years, effective January 8, 2001, and imposed a $1000 fine for having submitted, or caused to be submitted, two litter registration applications which she knew, should have known, or had a duty to know, contained false certification.
