Truly, do stick around. There's lots of good info here.
And a few of us will be taking those guys out behind the woodshed tonight. I have extra pairs of spanking gloves, Kelly and Betty and Barbara.

I know ALL our dogs are family but you know how family can be a pain in the...neck occasionally. That's when big sis Connie starts in with the spanking gloves.

I have a short legged JRT. They are basically a designer dog themselves, and are nothing more than what a Shiloh was probably bred for. Looks.
I'm fine with that, and don't feel the need to convince anyone otherwise.:smile:

Yes, it looks like a forum for Shiloh Shepherds. Maybe, if we treat her with respect she will refer people to this forum for training advice. Or to Leerburg for training equipment and DVDs.
I am on 3 other forums.. breed forums and working forums. I talk about Leerburg ALL THE TIME! Word of mouth is the BEST advertisement!!! But it can work against you if someone has a bad experience.
We have people here with all different breeds, and mixes. They have different levels of experience in training... from first time pet owners to international sport trainers.
My point here is that no matter the breed of dog, or level of experience, everyone here deserves to be treated with respect.
It is THAT which makes us better than the other forums. I hate reading the snarky nasty comments that I see on other forums where a select few think they are God's gift to dog training. We aren't like that, and I don't want that to change.

Thank you, Kelly. This thread bothered me for two days but I didn't want to be the one to say anything.
I don't have a Shiloh, but I do have a house full of dogs that by many members' standards are "useless" because they aren't working-line GSDs or Mals--breeds that newbies are, probably rightly, routinely talked out of when they come here and ask about them.
If this is a working dog (only) forum then somebody just needs to say so. Then those of us with poodles, pugs, showline dogs, and Shiloh Shepherds won't feel like we are intruding where we aren't welcome.

It's not. It's a board for people who care about all their dogs' training/feeding/health.

I know that we also tend to know that our dogs are dogs and not furry little kids, and they are beloved and respected for being exactly what they are.

I really do think there is often a reaction to drive-by ads and plugs of other boards, and that this thread is an example of that reaction, overdone.
