Lori,
I'm so sorry to hear about Kasey's dental emergency. Thanks for sharing. It is great to know what options may be available. I appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience.
Was the vital pulpotomy performed on the teeth broken below the gum line?

Was the vital pulpotomy performed on the teeth broken below the gum line?
Yes. They broke off vertically about 1/8th of an inch below the gum. All you could really see was a couple of very jagged stumps sticking out of the gum. Now it looks like 2 little rounded teeth that about 1/3 the length they used to be. They used filling material that is the white kind so I looks just like regular teeth, just short and round. They really did quite an amazing job.
So very sorry to hear about Kasey's accident but very glad to hear you were able to get him the help he needed so quickly. OY - that MUST have hurt!!! Poor guy... Give him a scratch for me!
Man, who knew ball playing could be so dangerous!!! and expensive!
The root of all evil. OUCH! No pun intended.
I hope Kasey is feeling better soon. Thor has had several dealings with Tramadol and is restless for about an hour after taking it then somewhat catatonic and mopey but restful so I really feel the pain is greatly reduced even though I'm not a fan of the sedation.....well unless I'm busy (bad owner).
That's great information Lori. Haven't dealt with a head on mouth injury like that but it's good to know the teeth have a potential to be saved if attended to right away.
That sounded so painful for poor Kasey.
The hazards of the almighty ball and our little speed demons.
Besides good insurance, bubble wrap has crossed my mind. A football helmet may not be a bad investment either.
