One thing I have on my side is heat and humidity, it slows him down.
Other than trying to take over, he is very aware not to hurt me. He's very gentle with my broken hand, he knows...and I am very glad he doesn't see the cast as a tug. He did real good yesterday. After a good game of fetch I walked him to the field and he laid in the grass and watched a thunderstorm with me.
He has no fleas and normally doesn't have itchy skin ever but since his neuter he has been itchy for no apparent reason. I hope its not permanent. I would give him a bath but can't get the cast wet. Too bad nobody else wants to
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
He may be itchy and may shed because he was sick as hell with his prostate problems. Many times post fever or serious illness hair falls out and the skin gets flakey. He may also have picked up fleas at the vet, so keep that in mind.
I am so glad that he is better. I have a feeling he was sicker than he was letting on. Prostatitis is
equivalent to pyometra in terms of it's potential lethality. That, and the prostate is not removed, only treated with antibiotics and castration. It can be a really bad deal. SO GLAD HE"S BETTER!
Yeah I see what you mean about prostatitis being the male equivalent of pyometra. He stopped shedding so much, the itching I thought would be gone by now this long after being sick. I haven't found any fleas or flea dirt on him and he's not allergic to them. I wish I could make him feel better.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
Its worse than I thought, he had rubbed his muzzle raw and he has scratched patches of hair thin on himself today. I just checked him for fleas and didn't find a single flea or flea dirt. I guess I'll have to wrap plastic around my left arm and bathe him with one hand tomorrow. I have noticed pets having the same skin issues after being neutered or other surgery especially right after. Until tomorrow I am putting a little anti itch stuff on his muzzle since that's the worst.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
