What I would be wondering Robbin, is what the two dogs that were bred are going to produce. Why were they bred and is it someone you trust? Is it a repeat that there were great results from the other litter?
Ha ha, yes There's twas me. Still didn't feel like my questions were answered after that post, the answers were very broad. I guess it's something hard to address unless you have pedigree and such, etc. Thanks for trying though
Every pup is different. Every trainer and handler are different. It's hard to predict how a dog is going to turn out. There is tons of info on this and other sites about raising, training, and living with working dogs, high drive dogs, working puppies, etc. All you can do is study the material and prepare yourself to raise the dog the way you want him to turn out.
What you end up with will depend largely on the puppy you select. Regardless of breed (as DS, Mals, and GSDs will have similar traits) pick one with a solid temperament, manage the dog well, and you will end up with a dream of a dog.
I suggest that you try to join an IPO (Sch) club. Being around working dogs and experienced trainers would help a lot, and many will also help with AKC titling.
